Leah Wenger is a senior at Eastern Mennonite University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in vocal performance and psychology with an honors minor in December, 2020. Leah has spent her college years widely involved in campus activities. She served in multiple club leadership roles, played four years for the EMU Women's Varsity Soccer team, and performed in various choral groups and with the theatre department. She seeks to creatively combine her disciplines in all her schoolwork, presenting research such as: “Our Song: The Effects of Music as a Cue for Autobiographical Memories," 2020; “The Mad Genius: Robert Schuman and the Effects of Mania on Creativity,” 2019; and “Together in Harmony: An Exploration of the Power of Music to Reduce Violent Radicalization within our Communities”, 2017. Internships at the Shenandoah Valley Children's Choir and the Shenandoah Valley Bach Festival provided Leah with valuable experience in music administration and education. In January of 2020, Leah participated in an Early Music Intensive at Opera Programs Berlin, in Berlin, Germany. After graduation, Leah plans to continue working at the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Community Services Board, and looks forward to exploring the world before entering graduate school.
